Now in its 3rd year, visitors to the Alberts Farm Spring Fair will be able to enjoy a festive day aimed at bringing the community together at a vibrant craft market. It will be a day of family oriented fun activities.
If you’re in the mood to shop, have a look at our stalls offering wares of high quality handmade crafts such as silver jewellery, beautiful pottery, exquisite Xmas decorations, delicious jams & sauces plus many more. For the children, there will be a jumping castle, face painting and the much loved pony rides!
For the hungry and thirsty, there will be excellent coffee, cool drinks, mobile beer tent, boerewors rolls, ice-creams, cakes and other delicious fare on offer. The jovial, country vibe will be enhanced by Niqui as well as the choir at Northcliff High – both of whom where a hit at the 2015 Spring Fair. New this year is a talk on Citizen Science, a superb initiative for those of us who are conservation minded and are interested in the unique eco-systems at Alberts Farm.
At the heart of the Spring Fair is the need to raise awareness as well as the funding necessary to conserve and improve Alberts Farm. There are many projects to tackle – invasive plant control, fence repairs, erosion control on pathways, wetland remediation and of course much needed repairs to the dam wall. Over the years, the water level has dropped by 1.7m and interim repairs are needed. A key part of the water system at Alberts Farm, much aquatic and birdlife depends on the preservation of the dam wall. By supporting the Spring Fair, you will be assisting us to keep Alberts Farm beautiful and ensure that this gorgeous urban green space is protected for future generations.
